CST selection is run through a structured interview of timed stations. These usually assess your portfolio and commitment to surgery, your handling of a clinical scenario, and your management of a prioritisation or ethical situation. Each is a spoken task under time, in front of a panel — the format rewards candidates who can structure an answer and stay composed, not only those who know the content.
Most candidates prepare by reading model answers and rehearsing in their heads. The interview tests something different: delivering a structured answer out loud, under time, to a panel. That gap — between knowing what to say and saying it well under pressure — is what costs marks, and it only closes with spoken practice and feedback on how you actually came across.
The CST module runs interview stations with an AI coach that questions you the way a panel does, then gives feedback on structure, content and delivery — where you scored, where you lost ground, and what a stronger answer covers.
